ADMINSTRATOR

Sloan Martens (they/them) is a queer white settler living in Treaty 7 land in Mohkinstsis, Alberta.

Sloan is the right-hand of the lawyers at Marrow Law, ensuring smooth operations and support so our lawyers can focus on advocacy for clients across Canada. Sloan’s approach reflects our firm’s commitment to respectful, culturally informed, client-centred service.

Sloan designs and maintains the systems that move cases forward including streamlining intake, organizing files, coordinating calendars and court dates, and keeping client communication clear and timely. With a detail-driven, solutions-first mindset, Sloan supports our team from first contact to file completion, ensuring clients feel informed and supported at every step.

MANAGER

Breanna Epp (she/her) provides team and operations management at Marrow Law, supporting the team and ensuring that projects move forward smoothly.

Breanna has spent the past decade in team leadership and operations roles across several industries, from the non-profit sector to healthcare to consulting firms. She is based in Treaty 1 (Winnipeg) and as a settler Canadian, she feels privileged to play a small background role in the important work Marrow Law is doing in Nunavut and across Canada.

In addition to her work, Breanna is studying Sociology at the University of Manitoba with a focus on understanding the systemic societal factors that affect health outcomes. During her free time, Breanna can be found lifting in the gym, getting outside, or laughing at dumb TV with her husband and business partner, Ben.

FINANCE MANAGER

Cale Trent (he/him) is the Finance Manager at Perrie Law, overseeing financial operations across the firm. He has experience in legal accounting, trust accounting, financial reporting, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. 

Outside of work, Cale enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. He has an interest in playing sports, golfing, and watching professional sports. He values teamwork, discipline, and consistency both on and off the course.

OFFICE MANAGER

Kerri Potter (She/Her) is the Office Manager at Perrie Law and the first welcoming face clients meet when they connect with our office. With a background in customer service and theatre administration, she brings many years of experience creating warm, professional, and culturally safe spaces.

A graduate of the University of Winnipeg’s Acting Honours program, Kerri has worked extensively in the Winnipeg theatre community, where she collaborated with Indigenous artists, supported the Indigenous Theatre for Youth program at Manitoba Theatre for Young People, and partnered with knowledge and language keepers on educational resources.

At Perrie Law, Kerri ensures the office runs smoothly and that every client feels supported from their very first call. She is the smiling face when you walk in our front door at our Winnipeg office and is grateful to be part of a team dedicated to serving communities across Nunavut and Manitoba.

COMMUNICATIONS MANAGER

Tess Ray Houston (they/she) is a Red River Métis Creative Consultant & Music Manager based in Treaty 1 Territory (Winnipeg, MB). As Communications Manager at Perrie Law, Tess specializes in developing clear, accessible, and impactful messaging that connects communities with legal services and advocacy rooted in empowerment, clarity, and collaboration.

With a decade of experience across communications, arts, and media, Tess brings a multidisciplinary lens to their work — blending strategic thinking with a strong sense of storytelling and design. In addition to Perrie Law, Tess founded Midnight Bannock, an artist management and creative services company, where they guided artists through branding, public communications, and long-term career development. They also gained experience supporting musicians and organizations in both non-profit and contract roles, sharpening their communications and management skills through mentorship with industry leaders.

Tess’s background in film, visual arts, and performance deepens their approach to communication, offering a unique ability to translate complex ideas into accessible and compelling stories. Their work in national media productions, fashion, and visual arts has strengthened their eye for detail and commitment to representing diverse voices with authenticity and care.

At Perrie Law, Tess applies this breadth of experience to lead communications strategy, ensuring the firm’s messages reflect its values of advocacy, accessibility, and community connection.

ARTICLING STUDENT

Charlotte Sheasby (she/they) is an Articling Student who divides her time between Calgary, Alberta, and Toronto, Ontario. Charlotte takes seriously the obligations that reconciliation places on white settlers such as herself to work to understand Indigenous cultures, support Indigenous self-determination, and disrupt colonial power structures wherever possible. At Perrie Law, Charlotte furthers the work of staff lawyers through behind-the-scenes research support.

Charlotte holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Osgoode Hall Law School of York University; a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law; a Master of Arts in Religion (M.A.R.), with a concentration in theology, from Yale University, School of Divinity; and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), with a major in Christian Studies, from Ambrose University. Charlotte is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Law at Osgoode Hall.

Charlotte’s professional experience includes a summer internship on the Standing Rock Reservation in South Dakota, advising The Episcopal Church on, among other things, the Indigenization of its work there. While in law school, Charlotte held summer positions at the Women’s Legal Education and Action Fund (LEAF) in Toronto, as well as at the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre.

In her personal life, Charlotte enjoys watching sports, cooking and baking, and quilting.
