Amy Matychuk, B.A., J.D.

Amy Matychuk (she/her) founded what was then Prison and Police Law in 2021 to address miscarriages of justice in the prison system and at the hands of police. She graduated from UCalgary Law in 2018 and spent three years working for judges at the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Nunavut Court of Justice. Now her goal is to provide victims of police and prison mistreatment with better access to justice. She joined Marrow Law in 2026.

In 2024, Amy was named in Avenue Calgary’s Top 40 Under 40 for her prison justice and police misconduct advocacy. She also serves on the executive committees of the Canadian Prison Law Association, the Alberta Prison Justice Society, and the Alberta Police Misconduct Database Association.

Amy is called to the bar in Alberta (2019), Nunavut (2023), and the Northwest Territories (2025).

Amy lives in Calgary, Alberta with her family.
